Stanford MBA Global Study Program Visits NTHU College of Technology Management

A delegation from the Stanford Graduate School of Business MBA Global Study Program visited the College of Technology Management (CTM), National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) on December 18 for an academic exchange. The visit welcomed 31 faculty members and students and was organized by CTM’s Executive MBA (EMBA) Office, with support from the International Affairs Office. The exchange was hosted by Prof. Jyun-Cheng Wang, Executive Director of the EMBA Program, with Prof. Hsiang-Ke Chao, Chair of the Department of Economics, also in attendance.

The Stanford MBA delegation aimed to gain deeper insights into the development and future outlook of Taiwan’s semiconductor industry. The program featured a keynote address by Distinguished Chair Professor and former CTM Dean, Prof. Ching-Tay Shih, who shared Taiwan’s experience in building a globally competitive semiconductor ecosystem. His talk highlighted how long-term policy support, academic research, and close collaboration between academia and industry have collectively driven Taiwan’s success, effectively bridging research innovation and industrial practice.

The visit began with welcome remarks from CTM Dean Prof. Shin-yi Peng, who emphasized that, beyond cultivating professional talent, CTM places strong importance on cross-disciplinary integration across business administration, data science, economics, and law. Benefiting from its strategic proximity to the Hsinchu Science Park and Taiwan’s semiconductor industry cluster, CTM has long served as a key hub connecting academic research with industry practice, fostering innovation and contributing to industrial development.

Dean Peng further noted that CTM has actively promoted international exchange initiatives and overseas learning programs. Through on-site visits, corporate engagement, and cross-cultural learning experiences, the College aims to equip students with a global perspective and strong practical capabilities, while continuously strengthening partnerships with leading international institutions.

In addition, CTM arranged a luncheon exchange between IMBA (International MBA) students, IMBA Director Prof. Szu-Wen Chou, and the Stanford MBA delegation. In a relaxed yet engaging setting, participants shared cross-cultural learning experiences, academic journeys, and career perspectives, further enhancing interaction and connections across programs and nationalities.

Through this visit, Stanford MBA faculty and students gained deeper insights into Taiwan’s approaches to technology governance, industrial development, and cross-disciplinary integration. The exchange also highlighted CTM’s proactive engagement in both outbound and inbound global study programs, international collaboration, and cross-program interaction, laying a solid foundation for future global partnerships.
