Economic Research Center on Globalization (ERCG)

Along with rapid growth in technologies of telecommunication and information and gradual awareness of open trade and internationally sharing of production, the human society in the 21 Century has experienced unprecedented era of globalization. Knowledge, labor, technology, capital, and resources move fast globally. National boundaries in politics, law, and economics have almost lost their traditional meaning. Brand new international orders focusing on trade and economic growth are emerging. The ERCG concerns the content of new orders and looks ahead to their future development. Under the collaboration among faculties of the College of Technology Management, domestic and international academics, and industrial organization, the ERCG dedicates to study impacts of these new orders on economic development in Taiwan. Furthermore, the ERCG scrutinizes the intellectual knowledge and responding strategies, which are necessary for realizing development in science and technology, government policies, and institutional adjustment.

The ERCG integrates three aspects of researches: sustainable development, institution and organization, and free enterprise and global competitiveness. Intensive interaction and discussion among researchers of these three groups can broaden and advocate our understanding about underlying the strength of globalization, i.e., free market operation, institution, and law. We truly expect to contribute to theoretical as well as practical issues of globalization.
